Investigation launched after attempts to steal from fishery

PC Akers of the Thames Valley Police Rural Crime Taskforce unit visited a fishery in Witney today following the report.

The force confirmed that CCTV images have been collected and an investigation is ongoing.

PC Akers also spoke with a farmer about people riding off-road bikes and quads in his field.

A statement issued by the unit today (March 24) said: “Please remember, you need to gain permission off the landowner to use their land.

“People using vehicles in an anti-social manner on private land could be subjected to a section 59 warning which could later lead to your vehicle being seized.

“If damage is caused you could be investigated for criminal damage.”
