Pupils at Sandhills Primary School at Headington were asked to build contraptions that could transport eggs from one table to another as part of a week-long science project in 1987.

The children aged five to 11 thought up everything from ferris wheels and roundabouts to an egg cable car. The results were shown to teachers and parents at a school science fair.
